It was a little after sunset on Planet Trendz.
The sky had shifted from deep violet to something darker — the kind of dark that doesn't frighten but invites. Dapper D sat atop a hill overlooking the water of the Celestial Luminary, his red plaid suit crisp against the cooling air, his wide brim hat resting low. The moon beamed down onto the water below, and for a moment — just a moment — he let himself be still.
That was when it began.
What started as a daydream became something else entirely. Images flooded him — not scattered, not confused, but precise. Cinematic. A story unfolding before his eyes with the clarity of something that had already happened. He saw faces. He saw struggle. He saw liberation. He saw a shirtless grey alien standing unbothered in the middle of a crowd. A woman with fire so ancient it had its own gravity. A red beret. Laughter. Tears. Hidden Ones stepping into light they had always deserved.
He saw all of it.
His breathing elevated. His chest tightened.
And then — silence.
Not the absence of sound. The presence of something else entirely.
A voice. Warm. Ancient. Certain.
"Don't be alarmed, Chosen One. It is me. Planet Trendz."
He stood slowly. The water below caught the moonlight and held it.
"Who are you?" he asked. "What do you want?"
The Celestial Luminary answered first — its waters stilling completely, its bioluminescent flora pulsing to life in slow deliberate waves, as if the planet itself had been waiting for exactly this moment to speak.
"I am Planet Trendz," the voice moved through the glowing flora like breath through a living instrument, each bloom brightening in perfect sequence. "The one who liberates. The one who brings peace."
Dapper D's eyes moved across the luminous landscape. His voice was measured when he spoke again.
"What was that I just saw?"
The Celestial Luminary laughed — every bloom erupting at once, a galaxy of light answering a single impossible question.
"What you just saw," Planet Trendz said, "was a glimpse of the future."
"All of it?"
"All of it."
He stood with that for a moment. The weight of an entire future resting in the stillness of the night. Most would have collapsed under it.
Dapper D did not move.
"Why me?" he asked. "And who are they?"
"Relax," said Planet Trendz, the flora dimming gently to a soft steady glow. "You will know in due time. But first — tell me. How did you feel while you were seeing it?"
The question surprised him. He had expected answers. He received a question instead.
He considered it. Searched himself the way only the still ones know how.
Then his voice steadied.
"I felt fine," he said. "Not scared. Sure of myself."
The Celestial Luminary blazed. Brighter than before. Brighter than the moon.
Planet Trendz spoke again — and this time the words landed like the first note of something that would never stop playing.
"What you just envisioned is my plan to liberate every Hidden One in the galaxy. The ones you saw — Trendy. Nova, whom you haven't met yet. And Chic."
A pause.
"Your sister."
Dapper D gasped. But he did not move.
"They are the ones I will call to help me do it," Planet Trendz continued, the flora holding its light steady and certain. "But only if you choose to accept."
The Celestial Luminary was quiet.
The water held the moon.
And Dapper D stood exactly as he was.
He already knew. He had always known. The stillness just gave him somewhere to stand long enough to hear it.
